MEET THE FOUNDER

I'm Caitlyn Lilly, the founder of hairbycaitlyn approved.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a problem solver and a slight workaholic but there are very few things in life that bring me more joy than providing solutions to people. I am very detail oriented and have a strong attention to detail.

A little bit about my journey and how I ended up where I am today.

THE SHORT VERSION

A salon owner, educator, innovator, entrepreneur, keratin extension specialist, dog mom to the best 2 (and a half) golden retrievers ever, and wife to the greatest man on earth.

THE LONG VERSION

I attended cosmetology in high school. I had absolutely no desire to do hair and if I’m being completely honest. I just did it because my mom told me not to.

She always said I was an entrepreneur, and that I should be the first person in our family to graduate from college.

Lucky for her, I was able to do both. I graduated from cosmetology in 2006 and went on to earn a Business Management Degree.

As I was nearing graduation, I started to really LOVE doing hair and was super passionate about keratin extensions.

I knew I wanted to be taken more serious than just being a “hair dresser”. I was tired of people asking me what I was going to do when I graduated? Like what I was already doing wasn’t enough?

Upon graduation I pursued a full-time career in education and worked on developing a hair color line for a top Pro Beauty company.

I LOVED IT! I loved meeting stylists and helping them solve problems they faced in the salon. I loved the innovation and creativity of working with a brand and most importantly, I loved building long lasting relationships. No one understands a stylist the way another stylist does. Am I right?

Education has always been a huge part of my career. I take pride in learning and constantly improving my skills.

After traveling the country full-time for several years I missed having clients of my own and I came back to work in the salon Specializing in blonding and extensions.

I had a great clientele and was incredibly fulfilled for a few years. Then, I got the itch to get back out there and connect with other Stylists and educate in salons.

Currently, I have the best of both worlds. I have a salon on the same property as our home where I take keratin extension clients several days a week, while also traveling the country educating and connecting with stylists.
